First impressions of Kia Picanto in Pakistan

It’s my initial impression of Kia Picanto just spent 5 mins with the car. Didn’t test drive or started the car 1st impression at par with Suzuki Cultus just start with it’s looks.

Looks:

The front looks really amazing. The rear wind shield is quite huge. Looks different the c pillar is very small.

Paint quality:

Seemed better than that of Cultus. Better finish . Less orange peal.

Metal quality:

Metal Gauge I judged its bonnet after opening. That was slightly thicker / better / heavier than that of Cultus for sure.

Plastic quality:

Bumper plastic was way softer and delicate than that of Cultus .

Weld quality / finish:

Welds finishing inside the engine compartment weren’t very neat and smooth . Was equal to or worse than that of Cultus

Doors:

They felt really solid on closing and opening unlike Cultus doors . More like wagon r doors .

Driving seat:

The seat seems more comfortable than that of Cultus. Height adjust makes things wonderful.

Interior:

The plastic quality felt very minutely better than Cultus .nothing out of this world different .very slightly better.

No fabric in door panels give poor feel.

Buttons etc of the door panel give good solid feel.

Fitting of interior panels:

Was at par with Suzuki Cultus nothing better than it’s AC controls feel of Cultus is much solid . Looks wise Kia Picanto AC controls take the marks

Usb and aux port below gives a very neat look which Cultus lacks and I think 2 charging sockets.

Roof lamp of Kia Picanto is looks more refined.

No vanity mirror in any sun-visor however Cultus has that.

Sunglasses holder is a plus point in Picanto.

No front door speakers . Speakers are in the dash board at front.

Rear seat:

Is more comfortable than that of Cultus for sure.

The floor is much deeper in Kia Picanto. Making Ur legs more relaxed at rear seats.

No rear bottle holders in door panels.

Leg room :

Rear leg room is bad if front seat fully pushed back.

This thing Cultus is much better.

Width of Cultus is more . Which gives better and bigger cabin feel in cultus. Kia Picanto won’t be able to accommodate 5 at all.

Trunk:

Very deep compared to cultus.

Stepney is donut tyre.

Manual gear was super smooth and better in feel/shifting than Cultus. But gear positions. Cultus wins here.

Kia Picanto Is more rounded and smaller car so would be more driving friendly / easy to drive.

Alloy wheels and dvd player are optional accessories and prices not disclosed yet .

Test drive will be offered after 1 week.

Fuel average:

Company claims local 14-15 KM/L

Long 20 KM/L

Now this is where Cultus would crush it if these figures are correct. Economy wise seems like at par with Suzuki Wagon R because of increase in price decline in sales of local cars. This first impression and review is courtesy of: Zubair Khan
